Aquacise Program
Southington Care Center's 16 foot warm-water pool is the ideal solution for those in need of aquatherapy. Aquatherapy, or water exercise, improves flexibility and range of motion and strengthens and tones muscles without hurting vulnerable joints. It is especially helpful in those who have arthritis because exercise in water cannot damage the joint further and the warm water itself is therapeutic.
Individuals with sports injuries, those who have undergone surgery or are about to undergo surgery, those with severe arthritis, poor balance or those needing to strengthen their joints, hips, knees and backs can all benefit from aquatherapy. Many people in these situations may not be able to tolerate land-based exercise, making aquatherapy the ideal exercise solution.
For more information about aquatherapy at Southington Care Center, please call the Outpatient Therapy Department at 860-378-1234 to schedule an evaluation.
