The Good Life Fitness and Wellness program, a specialized senior fitness program, offered at Southington Care Center, recently received a grant to assist with tuition scholarships for seniors. The Calvanese Foundation recently provided a grant to the Good Life Fitness program (formerly Senior FITness) to assist those seniors that demonstrate financial need. The Calvanese Foundation administers funding for community based programming or projects that enhance the quality of life for Southington residents. Funds from this grant will be used to offer Good Life Fitness scholarships specifically to older adults of Southington.

“We greatly appreciate the donation of funds from the Calvanese Foundation toward our Good Life Fitness program.  This grant made an immediate impact as we were able to allocate the funds for scholarships for seniors in our community to access our fitness program.  This prescribed exercise program is a great way to provide comprehensive preventative fitness and wellness for older adults and the Calvanese Foundation makes access a lot easier for community members,” said Dave Santoro, Administrator of Southington Care Center.

The Good Life Fitness and Wellness program is highly individualized program designed to address the special physical and social needs of the older adult population.  Using specifically designed Nautilus equipment, and under the supervision of a highly qualified exercise physiologist, the program focuses on improving quality of life by strengthening and enhancing their physical capabilities, ultimately overall function which leads to “living the good life.”

The Good Life Fitness and Wellness program can be reached by calling Southington Care Center at 860-621-9559 .  The Good Life Fitness and Wellness program is also available at Jerome Home in New Britain, Mulberry Gardens of Southington and The Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General.
